Revenue Leakage Audit for UK Accountancy Practices
A fixed-price review that puts a £ figure on the revenue your practice is losing, and a plan to recover it in order.
The problem
Most practices suspect they are leaving fees behind. Very few can say how much, or where.
Without a number, the work never gets prioritised, because everything else in the practice has a deadline attached and this does not.
What the Audit does
- 01Analyses 12 months of your practice management, billing and time data.
- 02Reads a sample of client correspondence to find work that was done and never billed.
- 03Interviews two or three of your team about how jobs are scoped, billed and chased.
- 04Produces a £ figure for each leak, ranked by what is recoverable first.
Those figures come with a plan to fix them in order and a fixed quote for the build. The Audit fee is credited against your build if you go ahead within 60 days.
What it costs
An Audit is £2,500 to £7,500, depending on the size of the practice, its client numbers and how complex its billing is. The price is fixed in writing before any work begins.
What moves it:
- The size of the practice and the number of clients to analyse
- How many systems the data sits in, and whether time is recorded
- How complex the pricing and billing arrangements are
The build that follows is quoted as a fixed price once the Audit has shown what is worth building, so you see the cost and the return side by side before committing.
Questions
- What data do you need from us?
- Twelve months of practice management, billing and time data, and access to a sample of client correspondence. A data processing agreement is in place first, and the data stays within your own environment wherever possible.
- How long does it take?
- Two to three weeks from the point the data is available. Your team is needed for two or three short conversations, not for the analysis.
- What if we do nothing afterwards?
- Then you still have the figures, the plan and a fixed quote, and you own all three. Some practices fix the first leak themselves. That is a reasonable outcome, and the Audit is priced as a standalone piece of work for that reason.
