Deadlines and MTD Readiness

See Every Deadline Coming, Across the Whole Client Book

Readiness across the whole client book in one view, with the clients who will be a problem flagged while there is still time to act.

The problem

Quarterly filing turned a handful of annual deadlines into a rolling cycle, and the clients who cause trouble are the same ones every quarter.

The practice usually finds out which those are in the last fortnight, when there is no time left to fix anything.

What the system does

  1. 01Tracks readiness for every client against every upcoming deadline.
  2. 02Flags the records that will not be ready, weeks before the date rather than days.
  3. 03Chases the missing data automatically, and escalates the clients who do not respond.
  4. 04Gives partners one view of where the practice stands, by deadline and by portfolio.

The numbers it moves

Clients ready ahead of each deadline
Measured as the share ready a fortnight out, which is when action is still possible.
Late filings and the work around them
Counted per cycle, alongside the overtime and rework they cause.

How it is proven

Readiness is calculated from your own records, and every chase and escalation is logged against the client and the deadline.

Questions

Does this only apply to MTD?
No. The same view covers VAT, payroll, accounts and tax return deadlines. MTD simply made the problem larger.
How early is a problem flagged?
As early as the data supports. The point is to surface a client while a partner can still do something about it, not to report a missed deadline neatly.
Does it file anything on our behalf?
No. Filing stays with your team. This makes sure nothing arrives at the deadline as a surprise.

Would this pay for itself in your practice?

A 30-minute call to talk through how your practice runs this work today, and whether an Audit is worth doing. If it is not, we will say so.
