See every deadline coming, across your whole client base
Readiness across your whole client base in one view, with the clients who will cause problems flagged while there is still time to act.
The problem
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax turns one annual Self Assessment deadline into four quarterly updates and a tax return for every client in scope. The clients who cause trouble tend to be the same ones every quarter.
The practice usually finds out which ones in the final fortnight, when there is no time left to fix anything.
What the system does
- 01Tracks readiness for every client against every upcoming deadline.
- 02Flags the records that will not be ready, weeks before the deadline.
- 03Chases the missing data automatically, and escalates the clients who do not respond.
- 04Gives partners one view of where the practice stands, by deadline and by portfolio.
The numbers it moves
- Clients ready ahead of each deadline
- Measured as the share ready a fortnight out, which is when action is still possible.
- Late filings and the work around them
- Counted per cycle, alongside the overtime and rework they cause.
What you can check
Readiness is calculated from your own records, and every chase and escalation is logged against the client and the deadline.
What it looks like
Illustrative. Built around your firm, your clients and your systems.
Questions
- Does this only apply to MTD?
- No. The same view covers VAT, payroll, accounts and tax return deadlines. MTD for Income Tax simply makes the problem larger.
- How early is a problem flagged?
- As early as the data supports. The point is to surface a client while a partner can still do something about it, not to report a missed deadline neatly.
- Does it file anything on our behalf?
- No. Filing stays with your team. This makes sure nothing arrives at the deadline as a surprise.
