Submissions, schedules and bordereaux, turned into structured data
The documents that reach an underwriting team were never designed to be read by a machine. A submission is a PDF and three spreadsheets, a schedule is a scan, and every coverholder lays out its bordereaux differently. We turn them into structured data, with every figure traceable to the page it came from.
What it does
- 01Reads submissions, schedules and statements of values in whatever form they arrive, including scans, and reads bordereaux in each coverholder’s own spreadsheet layout
- 02Pulls the fields your team uses: insured, period, limits, excess, locations, sums insured, occupancy, premium
- 03Checks each document for internal consistency and against what you already hold, and flags anything that does not agree
- 04Cites the source page for every extracted field, so a reviewer can check any figure in seconds
What it changes
- Reading stops being the bottleneck: each submission reaches the underwriter as a prepared file
- Keying errors fall, because nobody is retyping the figures
- Capacity stops depending on how many documents one person can get through in a day
What you can check
Every extraction is logged with the document, the field, the value and the page it came from, and the whole set is exportable. Anything the system is not confident about is flagged for a person.
What it looks like
A view like this is for checking, not somewhere your team has to work. The extracted data goes into the systems you already run. What a screen like this adds is the evidence: every field next to the page it was read from, and anything that does not agree raised before it reaches you.
Questions
- Does it work on scans and handwriting?
- Scans, yes, routinely. Handwriting depends on the document. Where confidence is low, the field is flagged for a person instead of being filled in.
- What happens to a document it cannot read?
- It stops and asks. Nothing is marked complete on the strength of a guess.
- Where do the documents live?
- In your environment. The system reads them where they already are.
